Why are Diplomas different to other qualifications?
Diplomas are a new and exciting qualification that have been designed and developed by employers for employers. The Diploma mark a step change in education moving young people from academic learning to experience a blend of theoretical and practical learning in a real life work context.

At the heart of the diploma are skills developed for people including communication, team work, innovation, enterprise, independence, practical, creative, problem solving, literacy, numeracy and IT competency.

"Employers need literate, numerate young people with a positive attitude, who are able to communicate effectively, work in teams and have good business awareness. We hope the new Diplomas will ensure vital literacy, numeracy and employability skills by helping them to see the relevance of the their future working lives. These Diplomas are a welcome addition to GCSEs, A–Levels, Apprenticeships and Vocational Qualifications – each has an important role to play in ensuring young people reach their full potential."
